Asara Education and Welfare Foundation (AEWF) was founded in 1977 by Late Md. Islmael, a freedom fighter, statesman and the first Premier of Bihar State. He was moved by the plight and miserable living conditions of the 100 odd tanner families who had settled in the marshes of Siwan. The Trust was registered in 1995 and the Trustees and Executive Council have continued to follow the principles of service and commitment to help the poor and underprivileged and adhere to the high principles of simplicity, integrity and commitment set by the founder. Asara Education and Welfare Foundation started the Yuva Platform (YP) Movement in 2011 under the leadership of Mr. Abid Hussain and Mrs. Shabana Khatoon to cater to the unmotivated school dropouts and make them economically independent through vocational training. The movement was formally launched in June 2011.
To give a second chance to the less educated deprived youth through wage or self-employment based on urban and rural livelihood training provided in partnership with stakeholders.
To reduce poverty and bring socio-economic empowerment to the underprivileged women by enhancing their choices and opportunities for better livelihoods, higher incomes and secure future for their children through counseling and training.
